Airport Open House Combined with National Safety Event

OLATHE, KS — April 5, 2010 — From 8:00am to 3:00pm, on Saturday, April 17, 2010, Air Associates at Johnson County Airport on 151st Street will host a public open house combined with a major Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) safety initiative. Pilot seminars will be ongoing as the public is welcome to tour aircraft, take airplane rides and discover the Johnson County airport.
Doug Jackson, Kansas City FAA Safety Program Manager said, “The Safety Stand Down is a nation-wide effort to promote a philosophy of personal flight discipline. Seminars are free of charge and feature subject matter experts presenting on topics such as loss of control, airport runway incursions, risk management, and aircraft maintenance.”
Owner of Air Associates, Tom Cargin, said the event gives everyone a chance to get close to aircraft and interact with community pilots. “We expect over seventy local pilots to attend the safety program. Area flight schools, as well as the Civil Air Patrol, will have a variety of aircraft on display. It’s a perfect opportunity for anyone to sit in a cockpit and learn from local pilots and flight instructors. If you ever wanted to find out how everyday people get to fly planes, this is your chance.”
One lucky person will win a free ride in a Cessna Citation business jet. A drawing will be at 1:00pm, with takeoff scheduled for 1:30. Flight instructors will be at hand to explain how to learn to fly. Air Associates will host a pancake breakfast prepared by Chris Cakes for $4.00 per plate starting at 8:00am. Lunch will start at 11:30am for $5.95.
AIR ASSOCIATES OF MISSOURI OPENS AT
SPIRIT OF ST. LOUIS AIRPORT
St. Louis, MO – March 8, 2010 – Air Associates of Missouri is pleased to announce they are now providing pilot training, aircraft rental, and maintenance services out of the West Terminal at the Spirit of St. Louis (SUS) Airport in Chesterfield, MO. A Grand Opening is scheduled for March 27, 2010.
Air Associates of Missouri was named a Cessna Pilot Center in December of 2009. Cessna Pilot Centers are flight training affiliated with the Cessna Aircraft Company and utilize the Cessna Flight Training System and Cessna aircraft. The center employs four full-time instructors and operates three Cessna 172 and two Cessna 182 aircraft. One Cessna 172 and both Cessna 182 aircraft are G-1000 equipped.
Air Associates is also providing maintenance services on single engine and light twin aircraft. In addition to maintaining their own fleet of Cessna rental aircraft, they also have the experience and support capabilities to service all Cessna, Beechcraft and Piper piston aircraft, as well as many other models. Maintenance services on piston aircraft include power plant repair and maintenance, airframe repairs, annual and 100 Hr. inspections, service bulletin compliance, engine exchanges and pre-purchase evaluations.
“Spirit of St. Louis Airport is one of the most active airports in the Midwest and we saw a definite need for quality flight training in the St. Louis area,” Says Tom Cargin, Owner. “There was also very little piston aircraft maintenance on the field and we are pleased and excited to offer these services.”
Air Associates of Missouri is backed by their parent facility, Air Associates of Kansas, a full service FBO located on Johnson County Executive Airport (OJC) in Olathe, KS. The OJC facility has a long-time reputation for providing quality flight training, aircraft rental and piston and turbine maintenance services. It is also a designated Cessna Pilot Center and Cessna Single Engine Service Center. In addition, Air Associates of Kansas provides extensive aircraft management and client services.
