Goals of the trip
are several:
-
We at Air
Associates love to fly, and we want our pilot friends/associates, renters
and students to develop the same feelings and excitement we feel, every time
we get to venture beyond the traffic pattern
-
We hope to
instill or refresh competent cross-country planning skills, improve
understanding and analysis of weather and promote decision making that
improves flight safety
-
We are hoping to
provide a means of exercising your pilot or student pilot privileges while
traveling to desirable/educational destinations
All of
our past trips such as Hutchinson, Independence, and Wichita in Kansas were a
resounding success. We averaged 10-12 aircraft and 20 – 30 people on these
trips.
Here is our proposed
Itinerary for this Fly-Out:
-
We will conduct a
preflight collaborative pilot briefing beginning at 7:00 PM Friday night
(September 28th) at Air Associates. We will discuss pre-flight
trip planning, aircraft launch sequencing/spacing and routes, weather,
weight and balance specifics for your aircraft and IDP arrival procedures.
-
As we did last
time we will offer a breakfast at Air Associates between 6:00 AM and 7:30 AM
-
We will depart
from OJC Saturday September 29th at 7:30 AM and arrive at Grand
Glaize-Osage Beach Airport (K15) at Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri shortly
after 8:45 AM (based upon typical 172 ground speed with a head wind)
-
We will be
transported to the beautiful Tan-Tar-A resort (http://www.tan-tar-a.com/)
on the wonderful Lake of the Ozarks. Everyone will be free to do any
activities they desire.
-
Golf, boating,
swimming, horseback riding, or just hanging out enjoying the scenery will
all be available. We plan to depart Tan-Tar-A no later than 3:30 PM. For a
list of some of the activities available please check website:
http://www.tan-tar-a.com/1/activities/activities_prices.htm). We will
arrive at OJC no later than 5:30 PM
The Friday night
pre-flight briefing is a mandatory event that must be attended by
each pilot who plans to fly a leg to or from IDP. A go-no-go decision will be
made Friday night. In the event that the weather forecast is marginal the
go-no-go may be made Saturday morning. In the event that weather is an issue
and we are unable to complete the trip as planned, we will identify a backup
date and we will take names of interested parties.
We are looking
forward to hearing from you and that you plan to come with us!!
